ZeeScroll Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies specifically to the ZeeScroll software for Windows. For the ZenytheLabs website and other products, see our general privacy policy.
1. Overview
ZeeScroll is a smooth mouse scrolling enhancement tool for Windows. It runs entirely on your local machine and is designed to collect minimal data. This policy explains exactly what data is transmitted, when, and why.
2. Data Collected During License Activation
Each time you launch ZeeScroll, the app connects to our server to verify your license. The following data is transmitted during this process:
- License key — the key you purchased, used to validate your subscription
- Device Identifier — a hashed, non-reversible identifier derived from your Windows user account. It cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Computer name — your Windows machine name (e.g., "DESKTOP-ABC123")
- Windows version — your OS build version (e.g., "10.0.22631")
- App version — the ZeeScroll version you are running
- IP address — automatically included with any internet request; used only for license validation and fraud prevention
This data is used solely to verify that your license is valid and to bind it to your device. It is stored on our Supabase database for the duration of your license.
3. Data Collected During Update Checks
ZeeScroll optionally checks for updates by contacting the GitHub Releases API. This request includes your current app version (via User-Agent header) and is used only to determine if a newer version is available. No personal data is sent during update checks.
4. What ZeeScroll Does NOT Collect
ZeeScroll does not collect:
- Scrolling behavior, mouse movements, or keystrokes
- Telemetry, crash reports, or usage analytics
- Personal files, documents, or browsing history
- Location data
- Account information — ZeeScroll has no user accounts
ZeeScroll operates entirely on your local machine. Your scrolling data never leaves your computer.
5. Local Data Storage
ZeeScroll caches your license credentials locally in the Windows Registry using Windows DPAPI encryption. This allows the app to verify your license offline after the first activation. You can clear this data by logging out or uninstalling ZeeScroll.
6. Third-Party Services
ZeeScroll uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — license key validation and Device Identifier binding. Data is stored in their cloud database. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
- GitHub API — optional update checks. See GitHub Privacy Statement.
- Buy Me a Coffee — payment processing for license purchases. We do not store payment card data. See Buy Me a Coffee Terms.
- Resend — delivery of license keys via email after purchase. See Resend Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — typography on the ZenytheLabs website. See Google Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention
License activation data (Device Identifier, license key, computer name, OS version, and app version) is retained on our server for the duration of your license. If your license expires or is revoked, this data may be retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention, after which it is permanently deleted.
Cached license data is stored locally on your device using Windows DPAPI encryption. You can clear this by logging out or uninstalling the app.
8. Data Security
All communication between ZeeScroll and our license server is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). Device Identifiers are hashed and cannot be reversed to identify you personally. Locally cached credentials are encrypted using Windows DPAPI, which is tied to your Windows user account.
9. Your Rights
Regardless of your location, you have the right to:
- Know what data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Request a copy of your data

If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are in California, you have rights under CCPA. We honor these rights globally.
10. Children's Privacy
ZeeScroll is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as ZeeScroll evolves. Material changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of ZeeScroll after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
